Meet Marquita

Marquita Marie is a native of Mobile, Alabama. She trained both at Sheffield School of Dance where she competed on National Awarded Teams, as well as a company member for Mobile Ballet. She later attended Grambling State University where she was apart of the Orchesis Dance company and had the opportunity to work alongside Dallas Black Dance Theatre II under the direction of Allyne D. Gartrell and perform for NFL Halftime games. In the summer of 2010, she relocated to New York to begin her training with The Ailey School to further pursue her dance career.

Dance Classes New YorkShe then went on to dance with Keen Dance Theatre, Millennium Contemporary Dance, Def Dance Jam Company, and Classical Contemporary Ballet Theatre to name a few. She has since danced with many project based companies and choreographers continuing her growth in her artistry performing original works by artists such as Christian Von Howard, Holli Wright, Judine Summerville, Freddie Moore, Vic DiMonda, Tony Mayes, and Debbie Wilson.
